"My Realtor showed me many houses before we came here at Golden Spike Estates. When I saw how much was going on here, I thought "This is where I should move to." There's so much to do. I go to the Zumba classes and line dance class. I play cards and billiards. I'm busy almost every day. We have potlucks and ladies gatherings once a month. There's swimming pool, and a movie viewing room. There's a room with puzzles being put together and anyone can join in, plus a small library with book and videos to borrow. I haven't even mentioned how friendly everyone is. We're like a huge family. I've made many friends already. I love it here." - Judy
"When we finally decided to leave Alaska, we were seeking a location similar to AK, but with a much milder climate and greater accessibility to natural and urban settings. We found what we were looking for at Golden Spike Estates, a small retirement community in northern Idaho. With easy access to Spokane and Coeur d’Alene, GSE is also the backdoor to unlimited hiking, skiing and water activities. Its moderate 4 season climate means we can enjoy outdoor recreation any day of the year as well as cultural events in the nearby cities. The homes are energy-efficient, very well built, attractively designed and landscaped. Perhaps best of all, it is a quiet, friendly community with great indoor and outdoor amenities, and a myriad of activity choices – all at a very affordable price!" - Kay & Steve
"We were drawn to Golden Spike Estates for several reasons besides beautiful Rathdrum Mountain and the wide open skies of the prairie. The biggest attraction for us is that it is a 55 plus retirement community located in a very scenic area of lakes and forests that offer numerous outdoor activities. The community of Golden Spike is wonderful in the fact that we are like a big family in which we are all here for the same purpose. It is quiet with no barking dogs, residences are low maintenance, and there are numerous activities and events to enjoy. The homes are attractive, very comfortable, and custom built using only quality materials. We are very happy here and we fit right in. It was the best decision we ever made to retire here!" - Ralph & Jacklin
"For a variety of reasons, having a home built in Golden Spike Estates was an excellent decision because I enjoy the variety of people who live here, the amenities, and the quality of homes they build. Over the years, I have heard about the many challenges individuals/couples face when building a new home. But, working with the builders here made the whole process actually fun. I also value the accessibility of the location as we are 6 miles north of I-90, 15 minutes from Coeur d’Alene and 20 minutes from Spokane Valley. Thus, one has ready access to a wide variety of recreational activities and cultural events. So what more could one want – a great community that is friendly, safe and a cost effective place to live." - Gail
"When we decided to move 6 years ago, what first impressed us the most was the neatness of the community and the yards. Plus, it is a very quiet neighborhood. Their homes are very well built and energy efficient. We have enjoyed the clubhouse a lot, particularly the pool, Jacuzzi, the billiards room and the many different activities that are held. In our moving here, we knew we would need to downsize to a smaller home which was all on one level and a smaller yard. Plus, we also like the people as there are many very nice people who live here." - Jerry & Elaine
